In its efforts to ensure effective, and efficient HIV/Aids services in the state, the management of Kano state Agency for the Control Aids under the leadership of Dr. Sabitu Y. Shuabu Shanono has embarked on a week long supportive supervision to all comprehensive treatment centres across the state starting with Hasiya Bayero pediatric Hospital, Bamalli Nuhu Maternity Hospital and the One Stop Shop for key populations situated at the Society for Women Development & Empowerment of Nigeria (SWODEN) head office today.

Speaking during the visit the Director General of the Agency Dr. Sabitu Shanono emphasize that the essence of the visit is to ensure that hitch free services are being provided and to identify areas that need improvement. He assured them that the state government under the leadership of His Excellency the executive governor of Kano State Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR has ensured a steady supply of diagnostic kits and consumables across the state.

Dr. Shanono urged the facilities to ensure their requests are accompanied by their consumption data. He also called upon the supporting partners and CBO’s to follow the right channel of accessing the health facilities providing HIV/AIDS services across the state.

In their separate remarks, the Medical Directors of the Hospital visited express appreciation over the visit and assured the Director General their readyness to improve on their services and work towards ownership.
